Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has proven his deshbhakti yet again by donating an amount of Rs 1.08 crore to the families of the CRPF jawans who were martyred while fighting Maoists in Sukma, Chhattisgarh.
The ‘Airlift’ actor Akshay Kumar has donated Rs 9 lakh each to the families of the 12 jawans who died in the battle between the CRPF and the Maoists.
On March 11, the CRPF troopers were out on ROP (Road Opening Patrol) duty when they were ambushed by a group of Maoists armed with automatic weapons and IEDs.
In the battle that followed, 12 CRPF men sacrificed their lives. This gesture by Akshay Kumar is not the first of its kind. The actor has donated sums of money to martyrs and for other causes time and again. Around Republic Day this year, Akshay also demanded an online portal to help families of martyrs.
