Karnataka Rajya Adivasigala Rakshana Vedike had organised adivasi leader Bisra Munda’s birth anniversary celebration and a seminar at Institute of Engineers, Mysuru on Sunday.
Former minister M Shivanna inaugurated the programme by unveiling Bisra Munda’s portrait. Speaking on the occasion, he said that most of the adivasis lack knowledge of their fundamental rights and of the provisions declared for them by the government. Hence such seminars and programmes will help in spreading awareness among them. He also called upon the community members to make use of the funds released by the government.
Shivanna also promised the community leaders to assist them in making sure the community gets proper representation at all the levels, including political representation. He assured the adivasis of full cooperation from his end for the overall development of the community.
Karnataka Rajya Adivasigala Rakshana Vedike state president J K Gopal Poojara, T T Basavana Gowda, Narendra Murthy, Govindaraju, Anjanamurthy, Niganna, Sulochana, Ramanna and others were present.
