Mysuru, July 10:- All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO), district unit members on Tuesday staged protest urging the Social Welfare Department to give admission to students at hostels.
The protesters gathered in front of Dr Babu Jagajivan Ram Bhavan of the Social Welfare Department at Paduvarahalli here, said that even after a month of restarting of academic year 2019-20, the hostels management has denied admission to new students.
They said that the students who had applied online for admission to the hostels have been facing inconvenience due to unavailability of accommodation. They said that students come to Mysuru from far off places by spending money for bus travel every day.
The activists alleged that this has led the students, especially girls to stay away from studies. They requested the deputy director of the Social Welfare Department to provide hostel facility to students without further delay.
