Aiming to generate 15 lakh jobs: Deshapande

Mysuru, January 16:- “The promise by the central government that it would generate two crore jobs in the country has not come true,” said Industries Minister R V Deshpande here on Saturday.   He was speaking at a discussion with industrialists at a private hotel here in the city.

“The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) had promised that they would generate two crore jobs every year when they took charge. But they didn’t fulfil their promise. We have generated 12.16 lakh jobs in Karnataka in four years. We aim at generating 15 lakh jobs by 2019. Karnataka is number 1 in industrial development. Karnataka was in the 11th position in 2013 and became number 1,  by beating Gujarat. Karnataka is number 1 in attracting businessmen and is number 1 in India in FDI. Mahilodyama park will be constructed at 48.03 acres of land at Thandya industrial area. We have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce Bengaluru as the second capital of the country. We have written to Congress president Rahul Gandhi in this regard,” Deshpande added.

“Ours is a diverse society. No one should disturb communal harmony,” he said. (MR/KS).
