Air connectivity to Goa and Shirdi from July 19: Manjunath

Mysuru, July 11:- “Mysuru airport which started as a small airport is getting expanded. It will encourage tourism, industries and agriculture in Mysuru. 3 new flights will fly from the airport from July 19,” said the director of Mysuru airport R Manjunath on Thursday. He was speaking at a discussion organised at the press club by District Journalists’ Association.

“Air connectivity will start from Mysuru to Goa, Shirdi and Cochin. Along with giving importance to the passengers to reach the city from the airport, transporting of goods will also be taken care of. Vegetables and flowers can also be sent to other states and countries once the airport becomes totally operational. It will encourage agriculture. The airport consists of 500 acres of land. State government has considered our request for land for the expansion of the runway which will be held soon. If Disneyland gets constructed at KRS, it will also attract tourists. For that, we have requested for a road connection from the airport to KRS. The airport has the capacity to fill fuel for the flights,” he added.
