All functions in the coming days will be simple: Mysuru DC Rohini Sindhuri

Mysuru, March 26:- With the second wave of coronavirus having made its entry, Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri on Thursday (March 26) opined that Dr Babu Jagjivan Ram’s birth anniversary on April 5 and Dr B R Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on April 14 should be kept as simple as possible.

Talking at a meeting held at her office in the city, Sindhuri said, “In view of the increasing coronavirus cases, according to latest Covid-19 guidelines, we can’t have a gathering of more than 200 people inside a stadium and the number is restricted to 500 if it is held outside. If fresh guidelines are issued, the birth anniversaries of Babu Jagjivan Ram and Dr Ambedkar will be held accordingly.”

The Deputy Commissioner said, “People seem to be forgetting the threat of coronavirus and it has become our responsibility to control the increasing cases. In this background, we will not allow any procession or entertainment programme.”
