Mysuru, November 10:- Karnataka Chess Association, All India Chess Association and Mysuru Chess Association are jointly organising All India Under-15 Fide Open Chess Tournament in the city from November 21 to 25.
“The tournament is being held for the first time in the heritage city. Around 300 players from all over India are taking part in the tournament. Winners will get 30 awards worth Rs 2.5 lakh. Founding member of MS Ramaiah Education Institutions, M R Jayaram will inaugurate the tournament on November 21 at 9 am at the Gymnasium Hall of the University of Mysore. Valedictory session will be held on November 25,” said vice-president of Mysuru Chess Association, Nagendra Muralidhar at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Saturday.
“The tournament, which will be held for 5 days, has five sections. All the matches will be held in the Swiss League model. Prizes will be given separately to boys and girls,” he added.
