Renowned poet Dr Lata Rajshekhar said that the architect of Indian Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar fought against all sorts of discrimination and poverty and dreamt of a constructive India where everyone can live with dignity, integrity, communal harmony and equality.
Speaking after inaugurating the 125th birth anniversary of the Bharat Ratna awardee Dr B R Ambedkar organised at the Maharani Women’s Science College on Monday, Dr Rajshekhar recalled the contributions of Dr Ambedkar and said that he dedicated his life for the betterment of the society.
“There are obvious ideological similarities between Buddha, Basavanna and Dr Ambedkar who had concern towards society and believed in equality for all without any discrimination,” she said.
Dr Rajashekhar said Dr Ambedkar strove for women empowerment and believed their equal contribution in nation building.
“To see the progress of any nation, it is imperative to understand women’s contribution,” she said quoting Dr Ambedkar.
Principal, Maharani Women’s Science College, Prof M L Vijaykumari, Joint Director, Regional Office, Department of College Education, Mysuru, Prof Morbad Mallikarjun were present on the occasion.
