Amid lockdown, sale of meat permitted for 3 days in a week in Mysuru

Mysuru, April 3:- Amid the bird flu scare, the district administration has now allowed the sale of meat in the city after several days on Friday. Mutton shops witnessed heavy rush since morning.

People were seen buying chicken in fewer numbers. District in-charge Minister V Somanna had instructed the authorities to sell mutton at Rs 500 per kg as maximum price. Mutton shop owners opined that they would incur a loss if they sold mutton at Rs 500 per kg.  They said that people are not demanding chicken due to the bird flu threat.

After prohibiting its sale for several days, now the district administration has permitted the sale of meat for three days in a week (Tuesday, Friday and Sunday) from today. (MR/KS)
