Amrita college’s Antarprerana -16 a hit

The two-day IT and Management festival aimed to encourage students to hone skills apart from academics

Mysore Institute of Commerce and Arts bagged the overall championship at Antarprerana -16, a two-day IT and Management Fest organised by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru campus, at its premises recently.

Inaugurating the programme, Kannada film director Chetan Kumar advised the students to pursue lifelong learning, devotion to one’s teacher and undivided concentration till the goals set are accomplished.

The two day festival was aimed at providing a learning platform for the participating students to hone their essential skills beyond academics in different fields of management, IT and media. The fest witnessed over 250 participants from various prestigious institutions in Karnataka.

Events like Emporia (Marketing), Curatos Procurator (HR) Milleur Gestionnaire (Best Manager), Financiero Riqueza (Finance), Carpe diem (Photography), Video Junkie (Media event),  Arena-D’el-Gamers (Lan Gaming), Bright Sparks (General Quiz) and Game-O-droid (Mobile Gaming), Procodithm (coding) provided real time scenario of workplace while providing entertainment and fun. Cash prizes and mementos for the winners were given away by the chief guest Chetan Kumar.

The additional event at Antarprerana ’16 La Dance, a contemporary dance competition entertained the crowd after which Symphonia – the performing arts club at Amrita presented The Ensemble (a string of popular hits).

New courses

Speaking on the occasion,  Sunil Dharmapal, Director, Mysuru campus announced the introduction of five new postgraduate programmes from 2016 admission – Masters in Corporate Communication and Advertising (MA), Masters in Animation and Content Management (MFA), Masters in Video production and Broadcasting(MJMC), MCom (Taxation) and MCA-Integrated to be offered from 2016 onwards.

Prof Vidya Pai C, Principal, Venugopal and others were present.
