Ananth Kumar’s contribution can never be forgotten: MLA Ramadass

Mysuru, November 12:- “Union Minister Ananth Kumar worked hard as an organiser of the party during elections throughout the country. If the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has its own position in Indian politics today, it is because of great workers like Ananth Kumar. It is unfortunate that the leader who created thousands of party workers like me is no more with us but his contributions can never be forgotten,” said MLA of Krishnaraja Constituency, S A Ramadass in a press release here on Tuesday.

“Ananth Kumar worked as a cabinet minister in the governments of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi. He was an able administrator and a friendly person. I entered politics on February 5 in 1993, thanks to Ananth Kumar. He brought me to politics and guided me. He gave me a ticket in the 1994 elections, saying youths should be in Vidhana Sabha. He made me the president of BJP state Yuva Morcha twice,” he said.

“Ananth Kumar has contributed a lot to Mysuru. He got central help for the construction of Outer Ring Road in the city. When he was the civil aviation minister, he contributed to the development of Mysuru Airport. He was the founder-president of the Employees’ Association of Reserve Bank of India for 18 months and later made me the president. His contributions are immense in bringing the Talavara and Parivara communities to ST ambit,” he recalled.

“He is the reason behind bringing generic drug house to India. He ensured that Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadha Kendras were active in India. More than 4000 generic medicine centres began during his tenure. It is shocking to know that he is no more and I pray to Goddess Chamundeshwari to give strength to his family, children and his followers,” he added. (MR/SH)
