Animals and birds adopted at Mysore Zoo

Mysuru, May 4:- Several animals were adopted by individuals by paying the prescribed fee for one year under “Adoption of Animals” scheme, stated a press release from Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, Ittigegudu, here. .

PL Muthushekar, Pune has adopted White Peacock and common Peafowl by paying Rs 10,500 from April 20, 2019 to April 19, 2020, while, Tejaswini TS from Bengaluru, adopted Budgerigar from April 18, 2019 to April 17, 2020 by paying fee of Rs 1000. Dr Seemanthini TS, Bengaluru, has adopted Brown wood Owl by paying a fee of Rs 3500 from May 21, 2019 to May 20, 2020 and Ananya S K, Bengaluru, has adopted Green Anaconda by paying a fee of Rs 10,000 from April 20, 2019 to April 19, 2020. Suresha S, Bengaluru, has adopted Indian Cobra by paying a fee of Rs 2,000 from May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2020.

Subhashini S, Bangaluru adopted Common Ostrich for Rs 10,000 from April 17, 2019 to April 16, 2020; Vishwanath M, Mysuru, has adopted Love bird for Rs 1000 from April 20, 2019 to April 19, 2020 and Kuldeep Sikarwar, Mumbai, has adopted Spot Billed Pelican and Black Swan by paying Rs 30,000 fee for a period of one year from April 17, 2019 to April 16, 2020.

Ajit M Kulkarni, executive director of the zoo appreciated the gesture of the people in their involvement for the cause of wildlife conservation. (NAV)
