Mysuru, January 13:- Ranga Rao Memorial School for Disabled, run by NR Foundation, the philanthropic arm of NR group, celebrated the 30th Annual Day at school premises here on Friday,
The event was inaugurated by Dr Siddaraju, director, Department for the Empowerment of Differently abled. N Geetha, District Disabled Welfare Department officer was the guest of honour. R Guru, chairman, NR Group, presided over the event.
During the event, a newly constructed high school building block with three new classrooms, one full-fledged library and a dormitory with a capacity of 50 students, was also inaugurated.
In his inaugural speech Dr Siddaraju said, “We can only build our nation better, if we mould our children better. By providing our children not only with education, but also with life skills we can ensure a better society.”
“This is a proud day for us. RMSD has touched many lives in all these years. The enthusiasm and liveliness of the students is incredibly priceless; this gives us the passion to continue to do what we do,” said R Guru.
Annual Day was celebrated with a variety of cultural programmes by the students. The children captivated the audience by performing classical dance – Pushpanjali, English action songs, folk dance – Kannada, Shastriya Sangeetha, Sahuha Nrutya – Kannada, drama – Gandarvasena, fold dance – Hindi, and Samuha Gayana. -(KK)
