Mysuru, October 31:- Geetha Sambhrama, the annual fest of GSSS Badriprasadji PU College, was celebrated at the college premises recently.
V N Mallikarjunaswamy, joint director, Department of Kannada and Culture, Government of Karnataka, inaugurated the fest. In his inaugural address, he encouraged the students with motivating words. He expressed that it is his dream to see events like this take place more often, at the campus.
He said participating in these types of fests will help the students to know their latent talents prevailing in them and also he insisted the students to participate the same in parallel with their academics. Around 500 students from various schools in and around Mysuru city participated in five different events like throwball, folk dance, PPT presentation, caption writing and thematic drawing.
A funfair with 65 stalls having fun games and different eateries were hosted to all participants and volunteers.
Mallikarjunaswamy was honoured on the occasion. Vanaja B Pandit, secretary, GSSS, presided over the function.
Shahida Banu, principal of the college; Rajalakshmi B K, convener of “Geetha Sambhrama 2019,” staff and students were present. (MR)
