Mysuru, October 13:- Karnataka State Progressive Thinkers’ Association has urged the state government to appoint a permanent Vice Chancellor for University of Mysore (UoM) at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Saturday.
“The students have been staging protest for days over various demands. Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda has not fulfilled the promises. Praveen, a dean is alleged to have asked for a bribe of Rs 10,000 for giving seat in the hostel. He should be suspended from duty. Though the minister has instructed to take back cases registered against the students, the police haven’t acted,” said president of the association K C Puttasiddashetty.
He said that the Registrar of UoM Prof R Rajanna is acting like a ‘dictator’ and urged the minister to take action against him.
