Appointment of Mahadevappa as Mysuru minister flayed

BJP district unit president M Shivanna criticised Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for appointing Dr H C Mahadevappa as District In-charge Minister of Mysuru and warned that this would lead to anarchy in the district.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday in city, Shivanna said that Sunil Bose, son of Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa is involved in illegal sand mining; he was seen partying, recently and riding on the shoulders of Sub-Inspector Shivanna of T Narasipur Police Station and S Raghavendra Gowda, Sub- Inspector of Chamarajanagar Police Station. Minister Mahadevappa cannot claim ignorance on such incidents and continue supporting his son. “Despite all this, Mahadevappa has been given the responsibility of Mysuru district.

The Superintendent of Police who is the investigating officer in the case, has failed to initiate action against Sunil Bose. Raghavendra Gowda, Sub-Inspector of Chamarajanagar who was found partying with the minister’s son has been transferred to Mysuru. These incidents point out the collapse of the district administration and police department.”

Though senior Congress leader V Srinivas Prasad was efficient and clean, he has been dropped by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah which has shocked the people of the state, he added.

Citing example of misuse of power by minister Mahadevappa, he said that out of 25 departments in T Narasipur, the top officers of 20 departments are close associates of Mahadevappa and were working according to their whims and fancies. He alleged that the son of H Mahadevappa has been “harassing officials,” who come in the way of their business in the district.

“All the officers are under the clutches of the minister. Now, he has been bestowed with the responsibility of Mysuru district which may lead to goondaism in the district.”

The BJP leaders have urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to drop Dr HC Mahadevappa from the cabinet or else they would stage protests against him in the coming days.
