Arivu distributes books to kids
With the aim of common schooling for all and encouraging more parents to send their children to government schools instead of private schools, the volunteers of ‘Arivu,’ a non-governmental organisation on Monday organised a book distribution programme to school going students.
Former minister S A Ramadas distributed books and stationery to 200 children of Akkana Balaga School on Thyagaraja Road in Agrahara. Speaking on the occasion, Ramdas said that parents must come forward to join their ward to government school instead of private schools. Children should not feel bad on seeing the other kids going to private institutions which offer better facilities and they should concentrate only their studies rather than worrying on such aspects.
Mayor B L Bhyrappa said that we are making an honest effort to make use of the facilities provided by the government. ”Improving quality education in government schools has been a priority and we are committed in ensuring that.”
Social worker K Raghuram, Corporator B V Manjunath, BJP leader Jogi Manjunath and others were present.
