Mysuru, March 4:- Now that the summer has arrived, the homo sapiens as well as the birds and animals wish to consume more liquids to keep themselves hydrated. ‘Arivu,’ an organisation which has been into social activities has started a novel initiative to provide water and food to birds as the winged species face difficulty in finding sufficient water especially during summer.

President of ‘Arivu’ Srikanth Kashyap inaugurated the initiative here on Wednesday.

Members of the organisation provided food and water to birds on Ramanuja Road, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Vani Vilasa Road and surrounding areas. They handed over the responsibility to replenish food and water to the shopkeepers and auto rickshaw drivers.

“Change is inevitable in nature. Summer has come. It is our responsibility to help the animals and birds. If we plant more saplings it will help birds and animals,” said Srikanth Kashyap.

“Arivu has been engaged in this work since 5 years. We should appreciate the organisation for providing food and water to birds. We should also keep food and water on the terrace of houses and buildings for the birds during summer,” said former corporator M D Parthasarathy.
