Arivu Samsthe turns three, lauded for its noble efforts

Marking its third anniversary here on Thursday, Arivu Samsthe felicitated eight distinguished personalities from the city.

B S Yogiraja Shilpi (Sculptor), Paper Subbana (Veteran newspaper distributor), Amshi Prasanna Kumar (Senior Journalist, Kannada Prabha Newspaper), Ramesh (Superintendent of Police), Shambhavamurthy (Priest), Dr Manjunath (Blood Donation wing, KR Hospital), Raghavendra Prasad (Mechanic and Musician) and Mahesh (Specialist in sculpting Ashtalakshmi idol) were felicitated for their service to the respective fields.

Speaking at the event, Mayor B L Bhyrappa said that Mysuru has rich tradition with respect to art and culture. “The princely state of Mysore ruled by the Wodeyar dynasty was in the forefront in upholding the culture of the land and promoting education. The regime of Maharaja Krishnaraja Wodeyar is known as the ‘the golden age’ and those traditions continue to this day. It is indeed a pleasure to attend the 3rd anniversary of Arivu Samsthe as it reminds all of us of the traditions and practices of this region,” he noted.

Elai Alvar Swamiji, Social worker K Raghuram, BJP leader Yashaswini Somashekar, Corporator Prashanth, B V Manjunath, Chinni Ravi and others were present.

Achievers from several fields were felicitated during the third anniversary celebrations of Arivu Samsthe. Mayor B L Bhyrappa lauded the institution for striving to uphold the culture and noble traditions of Mysuru.
