Art not only builds personality of a man but also improves harmony among people, said senior theatre artist Dr H K Ramanath.
Speaking after inaugurating the inter-college drama and folklore competitions, organised by Kannada and Culture Department, Bengaluru at Maneyangala, Kalamandira, he said that art will bring two minds together. “No one should look down upon art as it can only take a person higher in life. Art has the ability of transforming dreams into reality,” he said.
“Scoring marks in exams should not be the only aim of children. When one involves himself in art, he matures. Today, some people have taken art to television medium. But it all began in theatre. No matter how great one becomes, he should never forget theatre. Students should throw away the stigma attached to theatre. Art has no discrimination. Discipline in life is most important for students,” he said.
Artist Mandya Ramesh, director of Kannada and Culture Department, K A Dayanand, Rangayana deputy director Nirmala Matapathi and others were present.
