Mysuru, April 16:- “The most promising scheme of the state government, Ashraya Scheme has failed in Narasimha Raja Constituency due to the negligence of Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait. Rs 8.72 crore was allotted for the scheme in 2003-04 and that amount is insufficient to buy the land,” said independent candidate of N R Constituency Dr Mohammed Taher Ali at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Monday.
“Due to the negligence of the minister, the poor are not even getting roof over their head. The interest rate for the amount the poor have paid has now crossed Rs 70 lakh. The constituency has private hospitals, which are not for the use of the poor. The constituency is in need of a super-speciality hospital. An autonomous university should be opened in the name of former President late Dr APJ Abdul Kalam,” he added.
