Mysuru, October 8:- Protest staged by various organisations opposing educational untouchability and other problems at the University of Mysore has been called off after an assurance by higher education minister G T Devegowda. The minister met the protesters gathered in front of Crawford Hall on Saturday evening and requested them to call off the protest.
Education minister N Mahesh said that it is not right to register complaints against students and questioned how police can enter the university. He asked the police to remove the cases against the students.
Choranahalli Shivanna of Dalita Sangharsha Samiti said that the protest has been called off as requested by the ministers.
