Mysuru, July 23:- Ever since there was vandalism at Dr B R Ambedkar’s residence in Mumbai some weeks back, there has been widespread criticism condemning the act. Member of the Legislative Council Marithibbegowda has condemned the attack and he wants to know the action taken by the Centre and the Maharashtra government.
In his media release, Marithibbegowda has said, “Vandalism at the residence of the architect of the Indian Constitution is a shameful act. Around 90% of the Indian population comprises poor class, backward communities and oppressed class. The entire population is hurt by the act of the miscreants.”
The MLC added, “The Centre says it has a lot of respect for the Constitution but it should show it in action. People are interested to know the steps taken by the Maharashtra government and central government to arrest the miscreants. This is what we need right now.”
Saying the miscreants should be arrested at any cost, Marithibbegowda also advised the concerned authorities to be careful so that such incidents don’t occur in future. (MR/KS)
