Mysuru, April 8:- Any attack on the traffic police personnel when they are on duty will be viewed seriously, warned Mysuru Superintendent of Police (SP) C B Ryshyanth here on Wednesday (April 7).
Reacting to the recent attack on the policemen on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Bogadi, he said, “It is a matter of concern which should be given a serious thought. We will not allow any traffic policemen to be manhandled. Such cases will be dealt with according to the law. If there is a traffic violation, he or she will have to be penalised and it should not be taken otherwise.”
The SP said, “If a vehicle owner has all the proper documents with him, why should he be worried? The Supreme Court expects a report from the police department on the steps taken to avoid road accidents. The traffic rules and regulations are there to protect people and one should not violate them.” (MR/KS)
