Attempts to defame PM Modi on social media platforms; advocates register complaint

Mysuru, October 11:- A complaint has been registered with the Cyber Crime Police Station to take action against those who attempt to defame Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media platforms.

Senior advocate and former MLC Thontadarya, former president of Mysuru Bar Association (MBA) Chandramouli and MBA member Satyamurthy M Chetty condemned the attempts to defame the Prime Minister on social media platforms at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Thursday.

“Attempts to defame the Prime Minister is an anti-national activity. This case should be handed over to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a thorough investigation,” said Thontadarya.

“False information is being spread on social media platforms against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Such posts are very provocative. Action should be taken against the accused according to IPC Section 124-A, 499, 500, 504, 505(1), 507, 501, 120 and 419,” said Satyamurthy.

Chandramouli demanded action against such miscreants and not to allow attempts by anyone to defame any leader. (KMR, NGB)
