Improving quality of school education is the priority area in the contemporary world and this could be achieved only when schools switch over to Information Communication Technology (ICT) approach in teaching and learning pro-cess, said Dr N N Prahallada of Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Mysuru.
He was speaking at an orientation programme organised for the teachers of D A V Public School, here, on the theme “Teacher effectiveness” at the school premises recently.
Dr Prahallada observed that the utmost concern of all schools should be to nurture the potential of each child by providing a conducive environment of sharing and caring for their comprehensive and holistic development.
“The main objective of teaching is to ensure the appropriate learning of students and this is possible only when teachers are effective. An effective teacher is someone who influences students positively with his teaching skills embedded with lots of daily life examples.
Teachers should be effective and need to posses sound knowledge of the subject with proper preparation to face the students in the class,” he added.
