Audience treated to foot-tapping songs at Natya-Gaana-Shrunga

“We need winsome personalities in the field of light music,” said eminent music composer Nadabrahma Hamsalekha.

Addressing the gathering at a musical evening – ‘Natya-Gaana-Shrunga’, organised by Swaraalaapa Kala Kendra at Kalamandir, Hamsalekha said, “Contributions of P Kalingarao, Mysuru Ananthaswamy, C Ashwath and others to the field of light music is enormous. They all were charming personalities on and off the field of music. Today we need such people to keep the world of music alive.”

Earlier, inaugurating the musical evening, President of Sugama Sangeetha Academy H R Leelavathi said, “Pushpalatha, being an Akashavani artiste, has grown leaps and bounds through her Swaraalaapa Kala Kendra. By organising music programmes of this magnitude, she is contributing her best to the music world.”

Singers like Nitin Rajaram Shastry, K S Surekha, S Sunitha, T S Sneha, Amrutha Shastry, Anagha Sudham, Aalap, Raksha Athreyas took the audience to a whole new world of music with their Jaya Jaya Kannada Rajeshwari, Baa Baa Brungave, Ade Chandra.. Ade Taare.., Ee Mallige Gulabi, Ninnancharada Honalu, Hasiru Habbida and many other songs.

A light music audio CD ‘Preethi Shikhara’ composed by G Pushpalatha was released on the occasion by Hamsalekha. A dance-drama titled ‘Krishna Nruthya’ was performed by Poorna Acharya and team.

President of Swaraalaapa Kala Kendra and Secretary of Maharshi Group of Institutions, Bhavani Shankar, G Pushpalatha and others were present. Former minister S A Ramadas, educationist Vasudev Bhat, Corporator M V Ramprasad and others were present.
