Mysuru, November 19:- KMPK Charitable Trust of the city distributed roses to passengers at Mysuru City KSRTC Bus Terminal and displayed messages requesting the public to use toilets to protect the environment on the occasion of World Toilet Day on Tuesday. Senior social worker Raghuram Vajapayee inaugurated the event.
“Mysuru is already identified among the cleanest cities. Though the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) is constructing toilets, public are still urinating in open areas. KMPK Trust has organised this event to create awareness among the public. MCC should construct more toilets for the benefit of the public,” he added.
“Human wastes are being used as manure in many foreign countries. Rural people waste less water in toilets than urban people. It should be followed in cities as well. Urbanisation should not be a hazard for us. We have to work in this aspect,” said Vikram Iyengar of the trust.
