With a view to promote Indian products and sambar among the customers, Nanjudeshwara RCM Centre on Sunday held an awareness programme on desi products.
The shop has a range of desi products including rice, oil, coffee, tea powder, wheat, coconut oil, soap and sambar products. Beauty care products such as ‘Ramacha’ powder, toilet soap made of coconut oil and natural cleaning lotions made of pine oil and lemongrass are displayed at the sale.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Vijaya Narasimhananda Guruji of Jaganmatha Mukambika Seva Samasthana highlighted the need to consume organic products for a healthy life. “The high levels of pesticides and chemicals in food articles are pushing many to look out for organic products in the city. Let us have good quality food by adopting good cultivation practices where bio-manure and bio-fertilisers are used. In these days of global warming, it is time to prevent contamination of soil by stopping chemical-fed cultivation,” he added.
He pointed out that in spite of the huge demand for Swadeshi products from all sections; there is the issue of unavailability of the product which also needs to be addressed. The customers who visited the shop were briefed on the use of organic products in our day-to-day life.
Sri Immadi Gurulinga Swamiji of Kuderu Mutt, former corporator Chikkamma Basavaraju and proprietor Nanjundeshwara RCM Centre R G Mallikarjunaiah were present.
