Mysuru, August 29: The Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar has been transferred to Administrative Training Institute (ATI), while Kalaburgi District Commissioner B Sharath comes in place.
In fact, Sharath’s father Bhimaiah had worked as the Deputy Commissioner of Chamarajanagar in 2004. According to sources, Sankar had asked the government he be transferred to a central organisation some three months back. But due to the coronavirus pandemic, his request had been put on hold. ATI, which is a government organisation, comes under the purview of the central government.
Sharath, who came to Mysuru on Friday, took charge as the DC. He belongs 2011 IAS batch and is a native of Chitradurga. He had worked as DC of Bidar and later as CEO of Mandya ZEO.
Sankar’s new posting at ATI is temporary and he will soon be serving at the IAS Training Academy in Mussoorie.
Describing Sankar as an honest, upright, efficient IAS officer of the state, BJP Member of Parliament Pratap Simha in a tweet, said “the dearest DC of Mysuru, Abhiram Shankar has been transferred to ATI temporarily at his request. He vl then serve @ IAS training academy, Mussoorie. Take a bow Abhiram Sir, for all d good work hv done in Mys.” (MR/KS)
