Ban on entry to Chamundi Hills extended

Mysuru, August 13:- In view of the coronavirus pandemic, entry to Chamundi Hills had been banned during weekends during the month of Ashada. In another order, Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Dr Bagadi Gautham has extended the ban on August 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22, 27,28,29 and September 3, 4 and 5.

On the said days, there is a total ban on entry and on the other days, the public will not be allowed after 6 pm. The usual rituals will be performed by a limited staff of the temple. There won’t be distribution of ‘prasadam’ either.

Only VIPs and government officials are allowed to enter Chamundi Hills. Residents of Chamundi Hills have no restrictions.

On the restricted days, only those vehicles with eligible passes will be allowed to enter Chamundi Hills.
According to the DC orders, the temple authorities will have to strictly follow Covid guidelines. After the rituals are performed, the temple will have to be closed. (MR/KS)
