Bank official punished for cheating customer

Mysuru, April 18:- Jayalakshmipuram Canara Bank manager T Krishnappa has been punished with one-year jail and a fine of Rs 60,000 for misusing the money of a customer.

Krishnappa had taken Rs 8 lakh from the account of a customer, K Nityananda, saying he would keep it as a fixed deposit on September 19, 2008. But the manager failed to follow what he said. Nityananda filed a complaint at Jayalakshmipuram Police Station. Judge of CJM Court Yashwanth held Krishnappa guilty of the offence. (MR/KS).
