Bashir murder case: police arrests two more accused

Crime News, State, (Mangaluru), January 16:-Police have arrested two more persons in the murder of small eatery owner Ahmed Bashir at Kottar Chowki on January 3.

The arrested are identified as Lateesh, 24, and Pushparaj, 23, both from Kasaragod district in Kerala.

The police have earlier arrested Shreejith, Kishan Poojary, his brother Dhanush Poojary, and Sandesh Kotian.

Mohammed Muddasir, 22, was also attacked on January 3.

Police said on Monday that Ahmed Bashir who owned a small eatery in the busy road was dragged out of his shop and hacked to death by allegedly activists belonging to a right wing organisation on the same day when Deepak Rao, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was murdered in the same manner.

The accused in both the cases have been apprehended by the police and after police remand they have been in judicial custody.

It was alleged that Bashir was attacked by miscreants who allegedly wanted to take revenge after learning about murder of Rao.
