The Department of Business Administration of Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering celebrated the International Women’s Day recently to mark the contributions made by women to the society and the nation.
Speaking on the occasion, a woman entrepreneur Prabhavathi T M advised students on being self-dependent and empowered.
She stressed that though marks and grades were necessary to graduate but life skills were as important. Prabhavathi also insisted girls on balancing time and family chores without compromising on their dreams.
HoD of EEE of the college Dr Shobha Shankar reiterated that though the women’s day is celebrated, both men and women need to recognise each other’s strengths and provide support mutually.
Professor of E and C Dr Surekha T P said that it was women who had maximum roles in life. She highlighted the work life balance as the biggest challenge women were facing. She said that the best tool to tackle challenges was patience.
Various learning activates were organised in the department to encourage women to review their competencies as leaders. Head of the Department of Business Administration Dr PSV Balaji Rao was present.
