Beautiful Handwriting Pratibha Puraskar awards event held

Mysuru, January 29:- Kala Spandana had organised the annual Beautiful Handwriting Pratibha Puraskar felicitation programme at the Mahila Samaja in the city on Sunday.

Certificates and awards were given away to 60 students (boys and girls) of different schools and colleges in the city, parents and teachers.

Arokyaswamy, founder of St John’s Primary School at Hootagalli, Mysuru, was the chief guest.

Artist-singer and tambourine player N Mahalingam sang a verse of the poets of Karnataka playing the tambourine and the children had to guess the poet.

Sathyanarayan is the founder of Kala Spandana (founded 14 years ago) and a tutor at the Mahila Samaja. Gladstone Wilson and Marie Wilson, who have been offering honorary service in Handwriting and Communicative English at Kala Spandana on Sundays, were present on the occasion.

Calligraphy writing is also taught along with art and craft on holidays, stated a press release. (NGB)
