A human chain was formed and a Cancer awareness rally too was held by the Bharath Cancer Hospital staff including nursing staff and medical students from various colleges in the city on Tuesday to mark the `World No Tobacco Day.’
The rally which commenced from Basaveshwara statue via Chamaraja Double Road culminated at Ekalavya Circle. Over 500 people participated in the rally.
Dr Guruswamy, medical superintendent, JSS Hospital, Mysuru, was the chief guest. Dr M S Vishveshwara, medical superintendent and chief radiation oncologist and Dr Y S Madhavai, senior radiation oncologist, Bharath Hospital and Institute of Oncology, Mysuru, explained on cancer awareness and the ill Hospieffects of tobacco consumption, states a press release from Bharath Cancer Hospital PRO Nishanth.
