Mysuru, August 21:- “BEML is a major industry run by the central government in Karnataka. The Union Cabinet has taken a decision to sell 26% of its 54.03% share in BEML to private shareholders. This will affect the future of 8,500 permanent employees and 4,500 temporary employees of BEML,” alleged Bharath Earth Movers Employees’ Association.
A meeting of the officials and employees was held at the entrance of the factory in the city on Wednesday. They decided to stage a protest at 4 pm.
President of BEML Bengaluru complex Dommaluru Srinivas Reddy, Anjaneya Reddy, J Munnagappa, Govinda Reddy, Mallikarjun P Hiremutt and HA Nagashayana were present. (KS, NGB)
