Mysuru, June 08:- Senior Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) officer D Bharathi on Thursday assumed charge as the first woman Registrar the century old University of Mysore.
Following a Government Order, issued by the DPAR Bharathi who was serving as Additional Regional Commissioner in Mysuru was appointed by the Higher Education Department as Registrar (Administration) of University of Mysore.
On Thursday morning, In-charge Vice-chancellor of University of Mysore Prof Dayanand Mane formally welcomed her by handing over a flower bouquet at Crawford hall.
Speaking after assuming Charge Bharathi said, “I will work for the overall development of this prestigious University. I will put my best effort in maintaining a good administration in the varsity.”
Former Registrar R Rajanna has been repatriated to his parent department who is a professor in the Department of History, University of Mysore.
