The Mysuru South Police have solved three cases of motor vehicle theft and have arrested one person in this connection. They have also recovered three motorcycles from the accused.
Constables Jahour Ahamed, Harish, Ravi, Chandru and Manju caught hold of 25-year-old Rangaswamy when he was suspiciously moving around with a bike. They flagged him to stop but the accused tried to escape. Thee constables then chased him and on questioning, he said that the bike was stolen. He also failed to produce the vehicle documents.
Rangaswamy, a resident of Kadakola village, was then taken to the police station and during questioning, he said that he stole the bike from the Ring Road where it was parked. Investigations revealed that the accused was involved in two more cases and the vehicles were recovered from his possession.
Sub-inspector Mahesh said that Rangaswamy has been taken into custody and his links to other vehicle thefts, if any, would be established after investigation.
