BJP calls for introspection as horde of party leaders in Bengal quit

Prime News, National (Kolkata), May 23:- As Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in West Bengal quit the party, the national general secretary called for internal introspection. Recently, Arjun Singh quit the BJP and rejoined the Trinamool Congress party.

Former MP and BJP’s national general secretary, Anupam Hazra claimed the party needed to internally introspect the situation.

The former TMC MP, who joined BJP in 2019, took to social media to slam BJP leaders who claimed that the departure of Arjun Singh would not matter to the party.

“It is wrong to state that ‘it would have no impact on the party.It is a way of satisfying oneself,” wrote Hazra,

Further, he said, “It is somewhat a loss that should be stated and introspection should be done behind the reason why people are leaving.”

Hazra had lost the 2019 MP elections to TMC’s star candidate Mimi Chakraborty for the Jadavpur seat.

On Sunday, BJP MP Arjun Singh rejoined the TMC, while earlier, Babul Supriyo, had left the BJP and joined the TMC. (MR, Inputs: Agencies).
