BJP has no right to question development of Dalits: MP R Dhruvanarayan

Mysuru, April 2:- “Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has no moral right to speak about the development of Dalits and backward communities,” said Member of Parliament R Dhruvanarayan at a press meet held here on Saturday.

“Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has provided the maximum grants to their development. Strangely, BJP national president Amit Shah has told that these communities were not provided enough grants. The state government has introduced special units for the development of backward communities. But without having proper statistics, Shah has made baseless allegations which is not right,” he added.

“BJP had provided Rs 22,261 crore for backward communities when it was in power, but the Congress provided Rs 88,395 crore. BJP granted Rs 9,543 crore for social development, but the Congress sanctioned Rs 22,798 crore. BJP constructed 196 Morarji Schools, whereas Congress has constructed 278 residential schools and 150 hostels. BJP had provided 873 jobs in Social Welfare Department, but Congress has given 2,500 jobs. The Congress government has introduced free laptop facilities to students. BJP had constructed 1708 bhavans, whereas Congress government has constructed 8,199 bhavans. The BJP which is ruling in 21 states has not shown any concern towards backward communities. If BJP is really concerned towards them, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah should introduce grants based on population. They should stop dividing people in the name of caste and religion,” Dhruvanarayan added.
