Mysuru, December 29:- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rural district president Kote Shivanna has requested the party to consider him, former MLA G N Nanjundaswamy, former MLC C Ramesh or S Mahadevaiah for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Friday, he said that he would get support from all quarters if he is given the nod.
“I have worked as a minister. Ramesh was elected from both Chamarajanagar and Mysuru Districts. Nanjundaswamy was a two-time MLA. Mahadevaswamy worked as Chamarajanagar Zilla Panchayat president. One of us will have to be considered,” he added.
“I have met former minister and BJP state vice president V Srinivas Prasad and sought his support. He said that he or his family members would not contest in the Lok Sabha elections. He too would support us,” said Ramesh.
Responding to K Shivaram’s claim that he is the BJP candidate for the LS elections from Chamarajanagar, Shivanna said that BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa had told him that he had not promised anyone a ticket.
