BJP leaders have no knowledge of farming: Badagalapura Nagendra

Mysuru, September 10:- Lashing out at the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) president Badagalapura Nagendra on Thursday (September 10) said they know nothing about agriculture and all that they know is how to lie.

Speaking to reporters at Mysuru Press Club, Nagendra said, “If people from IT or BT want land, we will give. Let them contact us.”

He said, “Land near Anekal and Chikkaballapur near Bengaluru is not fit for agriculture. The latest government move is to help the industrialists. BJP leaders don’t know anything about farming. They only know how to lie. How many of them are from the farming community?”

Talking on support price for crops from the Centre, Nagendra opined, “18 crops have been added to the list. Jowar has also been added to this list, but the farmers are not getting the right support price. Tobacco farmers are also in deep trouble. The state and central governments have failed to help the farmers. Many of the farmers don’t have any clue on how to go about their work. Farmers are fed up with state and central governments. Both are anti-farmers, to say the least.”

Hosakote Basavaraju, Hosur Kumar and leaders from KRRS and Hasiru Sene were present. (MR/KS)
