Mysuru, May 10:- “The Election Commission is working in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Karnataka. BJP leaders are transporting money in helicopters,” alleged Congress spokesperson K Diwakar at a press meet held at Mysuru Press Club on Wednesday.
“BJP is trying to keep a check on Congress candidates by misusing Election Commission. The central government is harming democracy by interfering in the judiciary as well,” he alleged.
“The competition is virtually between BJP and Congress in the state Assembly elections. Jananta Dal (Secular) is a force only in Mysuru region. I condemn the charges made by JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda and H D Kumaraswamy who said the Congress is dividing people in the name of caste and religion,” he said.
He called BJP’s decision to announce B S Yeddyurappa as its chief ministerial candidate as a cheap move. He requested the Election Commission to issue show cause notice to BJP leaders Prakash Javdekar, Ananth Kumar and others who are accused in fake voters’ ID controversy in Rajarajeshwari Nagar in Bengaluru. He said that Congress would form the government with a majority. (MR/KMR).
