Prime News, National, Lucknow, June 30:- A BJP minister in UP failed to spell the full form of GST, in Maharajganj was reported.
Social Welfare, Scheduled Castes and Tribal Affairs Minister Ramapati Shastri were interacting with businessmen in Maharajganj to explain the modalities of GST.
When a reporter asked to expand the abbreviation of Goods and Services Tax (GST), the minister fumbled and tries to recall but in vain. The minister said I know the abbreviation but at this moment I cant’ recollect.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister YogiAditya Nath held a workshop to his cabinet colleagues to appraise the GST bill and asked the ministers to explain it to the people of the state.
The state Information Department also asked to spread awareness about the new GST Act. Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said, after the implementation of GST, the revenue of state likely to go up.
The incident happened when the calls are growing all over the nation, to set an educational qualification to political candidates to contest the elections.
