BJP plans to rope in Yaduveer for LS polls

Mysuru, August 13:- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is discussing the possibilities of making Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar as its candidate for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

During the Sampark Abhiyan of the central government, Yaduveer had appreciated the works of Narendra Modi government. He had opined that it would be better if Modi becomes the prime minister of India for a second term. Modi and BJP president Amit Shah were impressed by his opinion and said to be contemplating to make him the BJP candidate for Mysuru-Kodagu Constituency for 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

It is said that the party high command is thinking of making him the candidate instead of sitting MP Pratap Simha. In the 2014 election,  Simha became an MP for the first time and is accused of not doing any development work worth remembering. Though he is not facing corruption charges, he has not done anything that has impressed the voters. BJP high command is planning to convince Yaduveer to contest as its candidate. If he agrees, Simha will have to vacate the constituency and contest from any other constituency. Simha is planning to contest from Udupi, Chikkamagaluru or Hassan.

Yaduveer had earlier discussed his interest to enter politics. It is now to wait and watch whether he accepts the invitation of BJP and agrees to contest the election. (MR/KS).
