Mysuru, August 24:- Followers of corporator M V Ramaprasad, who is contesting as an independent candidate for MCC election from ward number 55, have asked him not to withdraw his nomination.
He was interacting with his followers at his residence. He said that he was asked by the BJP leaders to take back his nomination as Thursday was the last day for withdrawal of nominations. His followers asked him not to take back the nomination and promised to help him win the election.
His follower Santhosh Nallu threatened to end his life if Ramaprasad decides to take back nomination.
“I have not cheated anyone. I have been loyal to the party but have been denied a ticket. I have been with the people of my ward. I meet the public at 6 am every day. I have done many developmental works in the ward. Sadly, I have been sidelined. I have submitted my nomination as a BJP rebel candidate as advised by my supporters,” he said.
“I would have given it a thought if they had called me and told of my responsibility in the party. I never thought of being denied a ticket. Everyone in the core committee agreed to give a ticket to me but someone played a trick at the last moment. Don’t blame or scold anyone for this,” he added. (MR/HN).
