BJP stages protest against govt rule on pillion seats

Mysuru, October 24:- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and workers staged a protest in the city on Tuesday and condemned the state government’s decision to not allow pillion seats on motorcycles and scooters under 100 CC.

The protesters, who gathered at RTO Circle on JLB Road in the city, said that the government is hitting hard on the poor with its ‘absurd’ decision to not allow pillion riding for bikes under 100 CC. There are 14 lakh two-wheelers in Mysuru and the government has no right to alter Karnataka Motor Act 143 (3) 1989, said the protesters.

Former minister and BJP leader S A Ramadas, party workers, students and others participated in the protest.
