Mysuru, March 24:- Adhunika Yantrika Kasayikhane Nirmana Virodhi organisation welcomed the decision of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) to shift the proposed modern slaughter house from residential areas.
“186 days of protests were observed against the construction of modern slaughter house near the residential areas – Kesare, KHB Colony, R S Naidunagar, but officials remained blind towards the protest. This made us to urge the central government to intervene in opening of the slaughter house. The central government responded to our request and instructed the concerned authority to shift the proposed slaughter house,” said former MLA and BJP leader Maruthi Rao Pawar.
“A programme will be held at the premises of Ganapathy Temple near Naidunagar KSRTC Bus Terminal on March 25 at 5:30 pm. The protesters will be honoured on the occasion,” he added.
“Understanding the problems the public would have faced, the proposed slaughter house has been shifted outside the city. It will be constructed on 15 acres land at a cost of Rs 40 crore,” said corporator B V Manjunath.
