Mysuru, September 20:- “If the BJP thinks of breaking the Congress by cornering minister D K Shivakumar through income tax department and Enforcement Directorate, they are only day-dreaming,” said Congress media in charge Prof Radhakrishna. He was addressing a press meet at Mysuru press club on Thursday.
“What moral right does the state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa, who himself was jailed on corruption charges, have to question Shivakumar? BJP national president Amit Shah’s son started his company with a budget of only Rs 10,000. Where did he get the money to do mining in Australia and other countries?” he asked.
“It is BJP leaders Shobha Karandlaje and Nalin Kumar Kateel who taught how to do politics on the dead bodies of the innocents. Now, BJP MP Pratap Simha, it seems, is also treading the same path. BJP knows very well how to rake up communal issues during the elections. That’s why they have taken up triple talaq issue as the elections are nearing. Congress is also against triple talaq. It is against human rights and we oppose any sort of violence,” he added.
“Congress was in touch with JD(S) even before the announcement of the Assembly results, keeping in mind the secular policies of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda. Though we faced each other in the election, we aligned based on ideologies. The coalition government will be strong. Around 15-20 BJP MLAs are in touch with us. We are not scared of Operation Kamala. Those who fell prey to it didn’t win elections later,” he mocked.
“Congress doesn’t raise its voice. Shah and Narendra Modi have made innocent people as their devotees by telling lies. People have now understood that the BJP is only fooling them. RSS also praised the Congress for its contribution in fighting the British,” he added.
“With the Rafael deal of BJP against that of the earlier deal by Congress, Anil Ambani has cleared all his debts. Now the defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman is insulting HAL and the people of India, saying HAL doesn’t have the wherewithal to manufacture the aircraft,” he added.
Former MLA Vasu, B J Vijay Kumar, R Murthy, H A Venkatesh, M Lakshman were present. (MR/KMR).
